About Our Founder

Rev. David W. Greene, Sr is a dedicated husband, father, son, and pastor; as well as a strong determined humanitarian, civil leader, educator, and advocate of childhood education, and a drum major for social justice. Pastor Greene has celebrated over 35 years of marriage with his lovely wife, Glenda P. Greene, and is the proud father of two children, Ashley Nichole and David Jr., four granddaughters Nyla Janae Greene, Trinity Hogue, Sydney Greene, and Savanna Green; and three grandsons, Carrington Gandy, Ashton Snow, & Triston Hogue. Pastor Greene’s proud parents, Carl & Mary Greene, reside in Cave City, KY.

Pastor Greene has been the dynamic Senior Pastor of Second Baptist Church (doing business name of “Purpose of Life Ministries”) here in Indianapolis for over 25 years. Pastor Greene has an unconventional approach to ministry and ministers to the unchurch, unloved and unsaved continuously. Under his leadership, he has established numerous ministries to support his humanitarian/civic beliefs based on the Word of God.

Pastor Greene is an educator and a strong supporter of education, not just by mouth, but as demonstrated by his achievements in education. He graduated valedictorian of his high school class at Caverna High School, with honors from the University of Kentucky with degrees in math and computer science; a Summa Cum Laude gradate of Crossroads Bible College with a degree in religious studies; a Master of Divinity degree from Anderson University School of Theology.

Pastor Greene’s civic involvement is extensive and, in many instances, mirrors his passion for youth and social justice. Pastor Greene is an active board member of the following organizations:

  • President of Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis Inc. (2015 - Present)

  • President of the Blueprint Council to End Homelessness (2022)

  • Chairman of Board of Our Kids (O.K.) Program of Indiana (2012 - 2020)

  • Chairman of Central Indiana Council of Aging (CICOA) (2017 - 2020)

  • Chairman of American Red Cross of Central Indiana Board (2014 - 2016)

Pastor Greene is the host of the television show: “Real People Real Voices” on WHMB-40

Honors:

  • 2017 Pastor of the Year by the Baptist Minister’s Alliance

  • 2019 Mayor’s Community Advocacy Award

Many more accolades and accomplishments could be shared; however, time and space will not permit capturing all that encompasses the greatness of such a deserving man who constantly advocates change and improvement of lives, education, and justice for all.

Our Vision

To allow all families, especially Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, in Indianapolis and surrounding communities dealing with mental health issues—whether personally or as a caregiver— to have access to support, services, trainings, tools, and educational material that will better allow them to understand how to move positively and boldly into their future with a happy life—without fear or stigma.

Our Values

Inside Knowledge: We know that mental health affects not only the person suffering, but the family and the surrounding community. We want to support the wide range of issues that are impacted by mental health struggles, not just a single issue or person.

Making a Difference: We strive to be accountable for the well-being of all our communities: people in need, families, donors, volunteers and partners.
